A Pause Before the Espio Post

Hello. I am pleased to announce that I am going to start writing my Espio analysis... review... thing... tonight. I think I have enough information now. All I really have left to do is get a few more pictures and I'm all set.

Anyway... before that, there is a picture I'd like to share. It's a Sonic fanart that involves one of my most beloved things in the world:
FOOD!!!

This image was made by Kekani of deviantArt, and can be found on their gallery here.

Mother 3 Handbook

You have no idea how badly I want this!

Mother 3 is one of the most well designed, beautiful and moving games I have ever played in my life. Quick example of what this game did to me: I knew how it was going to end (I accidentally spoiled myself before I played it), but when I actually reached the end of the game I still cried my eyes out.

Here's a fairly brief explanation of all the thing I like in this game:
I have never seen a game end so well! All the loose ends are tied and there are pretty much no plot holes (I really don't think there are any actually), which is something few games seem to successfully do these days.  There isn't even the slightest hint to the story's twist, and when it's revealed it's like a brick to the face. What's more, it makes a lot of sense after you stop and think about it for, like, five seconds.  The characters are extremely fun and easy to relate too, and each have their own character ark and trials to overcome. While it's a kid's game, it knows that kids are not as dumb as a lot of games seem to think they are and is not afraid to tackle deep and serious issues that exist in life. (Like death, loss, the world changing too fast, and standing up for what's right even if there's no one else willing to stand with you.) The dialogue and cut scenes are witty and well thought out and make the world and situations you're in easy to understand. The battle system is a really refreshing take on the standard "wait your turn" JRPG style of gameplay, and the characters realizing abilities that they always had but where unaware of works much better (in my opinion) than killing a random enemy, leveling up and getting the "you have learned such-n-such!" (I've always felt that, while rewarding, learning an ability randomly after killing something was kinda odd. Granted that's varied based on the game's world and it's rules.) Finally, the art style fits the tone of the game well and is very unique from most modern and retro games.

All in all, I wish more people had been in a position to play this game. I may attempt to write more of a review of Mother 3 at a later date. If nothing else, it's an excuse to play it again! (Which I've only done... what? Four times? Eh whatever.)

That book waaaaaay up there is the epitome of Mother 3 knowledge. Oh lord do I want it! >:[
Hopefully I can grab a copy before it sells out again.

((Edit: HANDBOOK IS ON THE WAY! WOOHOO!!!))

Quick Update on What's Next

Hey-o!

Just sharing a sort of teaser (I guess?) of the next few future posts. I'm sure I mentioned this before, although maybe not here, but I'll be posting quite a few Sonic the Hedgehog related things. From my favorite (and maybe my not so favorite) characters and reasons why I like (or don't like) them, talking about the games, my memories and opinions of said games, as well as the fan-base and merchandise.

This may be a bit boring to a lot of you, so sorry about that. I'm mostly doing this to practice writing and getting my creative juices flowing again (which may sound odd, but it is actually helping me!). I hope you enjoy this either way.

On another note: I have no idea how to reply to comments. I believe it's possible, at the very least I remember doing it in the past. I plan on looking at the Blogger FAQ to figure this and few other things out. Bare with me in the meantime, and don't expect any direct feedback from me for now. @_@

Rebooting the Blog!

Hello! How are you?

Those of you who have been here before are probably noticing that the entire blog looks different now. And also that all the posts that where here before are gone. I hope that doesn't disappoint you.

Long story short is that I decided to restart this blog. Make it more of an online journal (that anyone can see, does that make it not a journal?) and just have more fun with it! I'll still post drawings every now and again, probably at the same time as I post them on my deviantArt. And to be honest, I think trying to make myself post and draw everyday just really stressed me out. It may have also contributed to me being unable to sit down and draw. There where some other factors too, but I'd rather not get into those.

But mostly, I think I'd just like to have a place where I really feel like I talk about anything and everything that I want without feeling like I'm trying to shove it at my friends and family. And I'll openly admit that I'd love getting some comments or just attention in general. Living completely alone and jobless makes any human acknowledgement pretty exciting. Sad, but true. Anyway, my point is that while no one may know or care about this blog, I'd still like it to be out there. Who knows, maybe I can entertain someone!

Well, that's it for the introductory post. Hope you'll enjoy the blog!

((P.S. Let me know if any of the text is hard to see. I was trying to find a color I liked and could be seen, but I'm not sure how successful I was...))
